just a brief thought

This day marks the end of first week of Amanda’s school life (she just started nursery).  Her independent, self-assured posture gave us both a sense of joy and gratitude.  Because she is secure, not having separation anxiety though having to leave us for 3 hrs a day.  While many children her age were crying their hearts out, she was doing her own thing, so to speak.  We are thankful to the Lord for helping us to love her and for providing her a sense of acceptance and protection.

I hope and pray that she will go on to be a secure young person, trusting God to protect and watch over her as she gives her life back to Him.  Of course I wish she would go on to tertiary education, and hold a good secure job but I want to, above all, see her know Christ, and live a fulfilled Christian life.

Amanda, I don’t know if you will ever read this particular entry into daddy’s blog.  Perhaps you never will, but nevertheless, I want you to know how much we love you.  You will always be daddy’s girl. My heart’s prayer is that you will know Jesus Christ as your Savior, and that He is your Lord.  Should you serve Him in full-time Christian vocation, I will give God praise for His goodness towards you. if He directs otherwise, I am fine with that too.  Whether you are academically astute or not, so long you have a decent education and responsible member of society, it is fine.  Our education system is not for your personality type.  But we could go to the US for your education unless daddy goes back to school, or have a special ministry that only my can fill.  “-)

new chapter

without comments

Amanda started nursery yesterday.  The first time she attends a school or class setting apart from Sunday school.  She got bored really quickly!  It reveals her independent spirit which in certain ways needs curbing in order for her function well along with others while other hand, the necessary ingredient I think to be her own person.  I’m not sure if it’s due to her being year-end child, she seems to lagging behind in concentration when it comes to group setting. She seems off-focus at times.  So whether it’s due to the boredom that she experiences or the cognitive level.  Will have to see. Too bad our system doesn’t allow parents to hold their kids back for a year if deemed necessary.  Again, it is premature to conclude this is so for she might just attune accordingly in a couple of weeks’ time.

I supposed this is a learning process or eye-opener for us regarding our little girl. Oh how much wisdom is needed to properly steer her in the right direction.
